ProSharp Ellipse XS

The ProSharp Ellipse XS takes a different approach from traditional single-, dual- or multi-radius profiles. Instead of building the blade from a series of circular radii, the Ellipse transfers an elliptical shape to the blade.

ProSharp describes the Ellipse family around a dynamic, seamless skating experience—the goal is a smooth transition across the blade rather than clearly feeling one radius change into another.

Within my current profile-emphasis testing, the Ellipse XS comes across as a more subtle option. It doesn't place as much emphasis on one specific skating characteristic as profiles like the Natural Curve, Quad or flat-area setup. That can make it an option for a skater looking for a smooth, flowing blade feel rather than a profile with an obvious acceleration, speed or stability bias.
